Peaceful Periods Book Club

Menstrual Education That Matters

Learn to love your period and have the tools of support you need to make menstruation the best ‘time of the month’ every month.

  • “I am about to embark on a bittersweet journey with my oldest child… teaching her about menstrual/womb health & wellness. I have to say, Chantal has really eased my anxiety and nervousness around this journey.”

    -Humairah

You want the girls around you to genuinely feel positively about their periods, but you’re not sure where to start or if you’re the best person to lead the way…

You struggled with your period growing up, fumbling between myths from your peers and confusing old wives’ tales from aunties.

You were taught that your period was ‘normal’, in spite of soaking through pads, popping pills for pain, and never knowing when to expect your cycle.

You remember the stress of concealing discarded pads and your fear of someone discovering that you’re on your period.

You know that this is not what you want for your daughter or niece.

You want the girls around you to feel genuinely positive about their periods, but you’re not sure where to start or if you’re the best person to lead the way.

Starting a book club is the easiest way to open conversations about periods that are informative, engaging, and powerful!

  • Science-backed and easy-to-read resource guide that explains menstruation without including sex education

  • Journal prompts, activities, and research projects at the end of each chapter

  • Toolkit and practitioner directory to support youth who are having a particularly hard time with their periods

  • Facilitator workshop and guide to answer any questions you have about starting your book club

  • Exclusive discount on self-paced course to further equip you as a facilitator

  • Virtual Author Meet & Greet for your book club!

Welcome, Sister!

As a wife and mother of three, I’m extremely passionate about nurturing a legacy of women who love their periods, honor their wombs, and protect their fertility for generations to come.

Now that I’ve published my first book, Peaceful Periods: Holistic Womb Care for Teens, I want to make sure that you and your daughter have the support you need to make peaceful periods your lived reality.

FAQs

  • To get started, I’d recommend downloading a free excerpt of Peaceful Periods: Holistic Womb Care for Teens and encouraging parents in your community to do the same. Parents have the option of placing their book orders separately or placing a bulk order of at least 20 books as a group with an exclusive 20% discount and reduced shipping fees.

Once book orders are placed, pick your venue which can be your living room, community space, or outdoors, if the weather is nice. Pick a few time and day options that work best for you as the facilitator before inviting participants to vote. You can schedule weekly, biweekly or monthly meetings for your book club, according to your availability and the group’s preference.

  • The reading level of Peaceful Periods: Holistic Womb Care for Teens is suitable for a fifth-grader. Depending on the size of your group, I would recommend a pre-teen group (ages 10-12), early teen group (13-15), and a later teen group (16-19). Even if you decide to host a single group for a larger age range, I would recommend that you have small group discussions for smaller age groups.

  • That’s absolutely your call! If you have an existing group that meets online due to geographic distance, then by all means, add the book club to your schedule. However, if you are gathering a group, it’s best to meet in person and form meaningful connections around the precious rite of passage that is menstruation.

  • If you have a sponsor or want to sponsor the book club, sure! Other than your time, the only other necessary expenses are the books themselves. A rented venue, like a community hall or library room, is optional. Refreshments can be provided or potluck-style, if desired. The book club can even be on a donation-basis. However, as a principle, we envision the book club being as accessible as possible, according to the needs of your community.

  • Send your inquiry, location, and desired program event to community@honoredwomb.com for booking details.

  • Is there an organization, institution, or business in your community that cares about youth?

Let them know that 1 in 5 young women miss school due to period pain and Peaceful Periods can help!

  • Think of your place of worship, a study circle, hobby club, homeschool group, or moms network in your community.

You can bring Peaceful Periods to an existing group or put out the call and see who’s interested.

  • You don’t have to do it all on your own, sis.

You can co-facilitate with others, take turns, or offer what’s easy for you-- a meeting space, your social network, flyer design, gathering people, etc.

  • Starting something new can be intimidating. But confidence is not a prerequisite to trying and doing your best.

You get access to the facilitator training right away when you sign up!

  • Send us an email at community@honoredwomb.com, and we’ll create a book club package that fits the needs of your group
